Cautionary Note to Users
Monthly Gross Rent Variables (GROSRTP/GROSRTC)

Please Be Advised:

We have recently identified some partially incorrect values for the
Monthly Gross Rent variables (GROSRTP/GROSRTC) on the 1996 Census PUMF
(Individuals File and Families File). Specifically, due to a processing
error, 463 records containing gross rent values were incorrectly set to
"$0" as opposed to "$99". 

At this time, we would like to inform you that we have corrected this
error on the FTP site/DLI listserv and on the PUMF CD-ROM products: the
flat ASCII file and the Beyond 20/20 cumulative product. 

We sincerely apologize for any inconveniences which may have been caused
by this error, and it’s subsequent delay for corrective action.
