(A)    Voting records for each polling station, electoral
       district and province for all candidates in the 1984
       general election pursuant to Subsection 58(9) of the
       Canada Elections Act.

(B)    The data are in ASCII characters.

(C)    All polling divisions report via the returning officer to
       the Chief Electoral Officer using forms 138 and 61. The
       data are transferred to magnetic tape.

(D)    The sampling is universal, i.e. all polling stations,
       candidates and votes.

(E)    This file was processed to level I.

(F)    The data are printed in:
             Chief Electoral Officer of Canada,
             Report of the Chief Electoral Officer,
             Ottawa, 1984.

(G)    The data set comprises telescoped records of 135 bytes.
       Each electoral district header record is followed by a
       record for each candidate in that riding. These are
       followed by a record for each poll in the riding.
