ACCESS TO THE DATABASE The CFP national sample of the 1901 census was created as part of a Major Collaborative Research Initiative funded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada, and by the universities of CFP collaborators: the University of Victoria, York University, the University of Ottawa, Concordia University, and the Université de Sherbrooke. The database was reserved for the use of CFP collaborators, and the students and post-doctoral fellows of CFP collaborators, until January 2002. On the cd you will find the following files: 1. 1901 census.por: this is the entire sample in SPSS format. 2. 1901 census.txt: this is the entire sample in ASCII-delimited format. 3. 1901 census.dmb: this is the entire sample in ACCESS format. 4. The User Guide in Acrobat Reader. 5. The Acrobat Reader Version 5.05 A note on technical support: funding for the Canadian Families Project ended in 2001. The universities participating in the Project do not provide on-going funding for maintaining and up-dating this database. All users are expected to provide their own technical support when using this database and this User's Guide.
